Located in
Northbridge, Rockface is open 7 days a week and welcomes
experienced climbers and first timers from all walks of life.
Indoor rock climbing is a safe, exciting, all-over body
workout for ages 5 to 85! And hey, it's way cooler than
lifting weights or running laps.
Can I come climbing on my
own?
You can come to the gym on your own, but you can't climb
the walls without a partner; it’s best to bring a
friend. Having said that, there are often others in the gym also looking for a climbing partner. Alternatively, why not use our forum to find a climbing partner? If you are on your own, you can always boulder, which
means climbing around near ground level. It's still great
exercise and lots of people do it.
What
should I wear?
Because you will be fitted with a harness that goes
around your legs like shorts, loose-fitting or stretchy
clothes are ideal. Pants or shorts and a t-shirt are
recommended climbing attire. Rigid clothing such as
jeans can prove very uncomfortable!
Do
I need to register?
All participants must sign an enrolment form before
using our facilities. For climbers aged under 18, the
enrolment form must also be signed by a parent or

What sort of gear will I use?
Once you’ve registered, you will be fitted with a
harness. You may also want to use proper climbing shoes
(makes it much easier) and climbers' chalk (if your
hands get sweaty). These are available for hire or, if
you’re serious about climbing, you can purchase your own
gear from our pro-shop.
Do you
offer training?
If you want to extend your skills further enrol in one
of our training programs. Technique training
and Indoor Lead Climbing training
sessions are run each month

Safe and Fun
Your safety is very important to us. All new climbers to our gym are given instruction in the use of all safety equipment; this takes a few minutes. Should you have any concerns, our friendly staff will be available to assist you further until you are confident with the equipment. We use only 10mm dynamic lead climbing rope on all our top-rope routes. Ropes run over 'slow-go' pulleys to ensure ease of control when lowering climbers. Professional carpeted gymnastic mats have been installed along the base of our walls to further maximize safety.
Our members have access to the gym anytime during opening hours, and all they have to do is swipe their membership pass to enter. You can become a member for one month, three months, or a year.
