Whether your club needs a change from its normally scheduled weekly meeting, or you just want a good excuse to get together with friends, Rockface welcomes your social event. Climbing is a fun activity to be incorporated into all types of events such as reunions, adult birthday parties, training sessions, meetings, or celebrations.
And, we are ideally located with Northbridge’s restaurant strip just five minutes away. So you can come in for a climb, make use of our changerooms and hot showers, and then walk over to James Street for lunch, dinner, or drinks with your friends!
Please note that we do not have a liquor license and, as the centre is classed as a ‘public meeting place,’ alcohol is prohibited.

Why not try something different for your child’s birthday party this year? Rock climbing is a safe and fun activity, and almost anyone can do it. Children love the challenge of trying something new, and it never hurts to give kids an activity that will use up all their creative and enthusiastic energy!
You will need to bring adult belayers (to control the ropes) for children under 13. We recommend 1 adult per 2-3 children. The gym has impact-absorbing landing surfaces under our top-rope climbs for added safety.

Coffee is available all day as well as cold drinks and snack foods. But, you are welcome to bring your own refreshments (including birthday cake) if you wish; we do not insist you buy our offerings. Also, we can put aside a table for your group’s food and birthday presents.

Your
safety
is very

All new
climbers
to our gym are
given
instruction in
the use of all
safety
equipment; this
takes a few
minutes. Should
you have any
concerns, our
friendly staff
will be
available to
assist you
further until
you are
confident with
the equipment.
We use only 10mm
dynamic lead
climbing rope on
all our top-rope
routes. Ropes
run over
'slow-go'
pulleys to
ensure ease of
control when
lowering
climbers.
Professional
carpeted
gymnastic mats
have been
installed along
the base of our
walls to further
maximize safety.
