Facilities

Rockface is Perth’s biggest climbing venue, with the gym reaching 10m at its highest point. Consisting of a bouldering area, a lead climbing wall, and a wide range of vertical walls, slabs, and overhangs; the facility also houses a pro-shop, a sitting area, and men’s and women’s change rooms with hot showers.

Coffee, cold drinks and snack foods are available for purchase all day. And yes, you can byo food for corporate team building or other social events.

Come in for a climb. Your entry fee covers you for an entire day; there is no time limit. Memberships are also available. Bookings are not necessary if there are just a few of you; although we do ask that you book for groups of 6 or more: phone (08) 9328 5998.

The Gym

The gym has a wide range of vertical walls, slabs (under vertical), and overhangs. Route difficulty ranges from very easy (suitable for children's birthday parties) to very hard (suitable for experienced climbers out for a challenge). To keep our climbers interested year-round, we employ creative route-setters, so the climbs are always changing.

Among the challenging climbs and exciting new routes, there are many easy climbs set specifically for the beginner. We cater to all levels of fitness and encourage you to take on the more difficult routes after some practice.

Experienced lead climbers are in their element, with lead routes up to 16m, a wide range of grades and styles, and professional gymnastic safety mats below the lead wall.

Many of our climbers enjoy bouldering, and if you don’t have a climbing partner, you might want to give it a try. Rockface has dedicated bouldering areas, where you can try your hand (and feet!) on various slabs and overhangs.

Your Safety

Your safety is very important to us. All new climbers to our gym are given instruction in the use of all safety equipment; this takes a few minutes. Should you have any concerns, our friendly staff will be available to assist you further until you are confident with the equipment.

We use only 10+mm dynamic climbing rope on all our top-rope routes. Ropes run over 'slow-go' pulleys to ensure ease of control when lowering climbers. Professional carpeted gymnastic mats have been installed along the base of our walls to further maximize safety.

Our Pro Shop is well stocked with some of the best brands in the world. If you are new to climbing then our Climbing Kit is very popular.
